The Clinical Records and Billing Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate billing, proper documentation, and compliance with organizational policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements. This role supports financial, and program audits, assists with records management, and serves as a point of contact for staff, clients, and partner agencies. The Specialist also provides technical and administrative support to improve billing systems and ensure the integrity of clinical records.


As a Clinical Record and Billing Compliance Specialist within the Babies Can't Wait and Children First Programs at the Georgia Department of Public Healthyou will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs a range of financial and program audits, including annual performance and family cost participation reviews.
  • Review billing records, claims, and transactions for accuracy and compliance with organizational policies, contracts, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, staff, contractors, and partner agencies to share information, respond to questions, participate in meetings, and serve as an onsite point of contact.
  • Provide ongoing support for Babies Information and Billing System (BIBS) troubleshooting and improvements.
  • Ensure documentation completion by assisting with collecting forms and other required information to process client intake, service plans, and provider notes.
  • Maintains, organizes, and manages client files and charts in accordance with program policies and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Facilitate medical records requests and review records, files, and other documentation to gather information and prepare responses to internal and external inquiries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the program operations and organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience related to area of assignment. 

Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.


Annual salary $42,000 plus general benefits including 13 paid holidays, annual and sick leave, health insurance, and retirement benefits.
